Abstract
The Indonesian independence struggle from 1945 to 1950 was a combination of comprehensive physical and ideological resistance. From a physical standpoint, Indonesia faced Dutch military aggression with guerrilla tactics and popular resistance. However, beyond physical warfare, the ideological struggle of nationalism led by Soekarno, Hatta, and other revolutionary leaders played a crucial role. This study aims to understand Indonesia's role as a counter-hegemony in its pursuit of independence. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with literature study as the data collection technique. Through targeted diplomacy and international support from countries such as India, Egypt, and members of the United Nations, Indonesia managed to gain global recognition as an independent nation. This struggle highlights the importance of collaboration between physical and ideological forces in achieving independence and strengthening Indonesia's legitimacy in the eyes of the world.
