Pemikiran Ekonomi Islam di Indonesia : Kontribusi dan Tantangan Dalam Konteks Global

Abstract

Islamic economic thought in Indonesia has developed rapidly as an alternative to conventional economic systems, which are often deemed insufficient in creating social balance and justice. Islamic economics introduces Sharia-based principles that emphasize ethical values, equitable distribution, and sustainability. In the Indonesian context, these ideas are manifested through the management of zakat, waqf, and Islamic finance, significantly contributing to financial inclusion and poverty alleviation. This study aims to explore these contributions while identifying the challenges faced, especially in the context of globalization. Using a qualitative analysis method based on literature studies, this research finds that Islamic economics in Indonesia plays a crucial role in improving community welfare through innovative zakat management and Islamic microfinance. However, challenges such as low Islamic financial literacy, lack of regulatory harmonization, and competition in the global market remain significant obstacles. The study recommends synergy between the government, academics, and practitioners to maximize the potential of Islamic economics and strengthen Indonesia's position in the global Islamic economy.
