Abstract


Earthworm Population in Horticultural Gardens. This research was conducted in the horticultural garden of Gampong Meerayeuk, Peusangan Selatan District, Bireuen Regency, which was carried out from October 1 to October 8, 2014. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the diversity of species, density of species and dominance of earthworm species. The type of approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with a survey research type. The data analysis technique uses the diversity, density and dominance formulas. The results of the study show that the diversity of earthworm species found in the horticultural garden of Gampong Meerayeuk, Peusangan Selatan District, Bireuen Regency is moderate with H' = 2.46. The Pontoscolex corethurus species is the most abundant or the most dense and dominant species, which is 90.9%, while Pheretima sp is the least abundant and less dominant species, which is 9.1%.
