Efektivitas Pendekatan Buerger Allen Exercise Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Dengan Diabetic Neuropathy Peripheral: Sebuah Studi Scoping Review
Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the most common metabolic disorders worldwide and is caused by a combination of two main factors, namely impaired insulin secretion by pancreatic ? cells and the inability of insulin-sensitive tissues to respond to insulin. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) shows that the global prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults is around 536.6 million people (10.5%) in 2021 and will increase to 783.2 million people (12.2%) in 2045. Buerger Allen exercise is an active leg exercise that aims to help meet the adequacy of oxygen and nutrients into the blood vessels, maximize the work of small muscles, prevent foot deformities, and lower blood sugar levels. To analyze the effectiveness of the Buerger Allen exercise approach in reducing symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The types of designs used in this scoping review are quasi-experimental studies, randomized control and trial, qualitative research, cross-sectional study. Systematic review shows that there are 10 research journals in 2017 to 2023. The number of samples studied from each journal ranges from 20-66 people and all primary data. It is concluded that Buerger Allen Exercise is effective in reducing symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and improving function and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus which can be done in everyday life and is cost-effective.
