Abstract

Collaborative learning has been recognized as one of the most effective approaches in developing teaching skills for prospective teachers. This article aims to explore how the implementation of collaborative learning methods in microteaching can enhance the teaching skills of students at Sunan Giri University Surabaya. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a sample of 15 students undergoing a microteaching program. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and written reflections from the students. The findings show that the application of collaborative learning significantly contributes to improvements in classroom management, communication, and self-evaluation skills. However, challenges related to group dynamics and unequal contributions among students remain obstacles that need to be addressed. These findings provide key recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of collaborative learning in microteaching programs at higher education institutions.
