Abstract
Self-Disclosure is the act of individuals sharing personal information with others. In the context of LGBT individuals, Self-Disclosure is often performed on social media to seek positive support. However, this activity frequently leads to discrimination and negative stigma from other users, which can disrupt their mental health. Therefore, the role of community counselors is crucial in supporting the psychological well-being of LGBT individuals. In Indonesia, LGBT issues are still considered taboo, presenting unique challenges for counselors in providing effective services. This article aims to discuss the roles and challenges faced by community counselors in assisting LGBT individuals, particularly those experiencing negative impacts from Self-Disclosure on social media. This research employs a literature review methodology, gathering information from various relevant sources. The findings indicate that community counselors need to understand LGBT issues and create safe spaces for clients, despite challenges such as social stigma and limitations of digital spaces.
