Abstract
This study explores the role of sharia in shaping political and cultural order in Muslim countries. Sharia, as a legal and moral system based on the Qur'an and Hadith, plays a significant role not only in religious aspects, but also in social, economic, and political structures. This study uses a political anthropology approach to understand how sharia is implemented and adapted in various contexts, both at the individual and state levels. The application of sharia varies across Muslim countries, from being the main foundation of state law to being limited to aspects of private law and morality. Thus, this study provides new perspectives on how sharia functions as a dynamic political and cultural foundation, and how it faces the challenges of globalization, human rights, and modernity.
