Pemanfaatan Tanaman Lokal Sebagai Upaya Pemberdayaan Masyarakat di Desa Rawang Oguang

Abstract

Rawang Oguang Village has abundant potential in local plants, particularly papaya plants, but their utilization remains suboptimal. This community service activity aimed to increase the communitys knowledge and understanding of local plant utilization through socialization on the production of botanical pesticides using papaya leaves, the processing of papaya fruit into sauce, and the establishment of a medicinal plant garden at the Rawang Oguang Village Office. The methods used included socialization and education through the delivery of materials using posters, product demonstrations, interactive discussions, and the planting of medicinal plants. The target participants included farmer groups, members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) organization, and the people of Rawang Oguang Village. The results showed an increase in community knowledge regarding the use of local plants as an environmentally friendly alternative for pest control, food product diversification, and the utilization of medicinal plants. The active participation of participants throughout the activities demonstrated that the program successfully achieved its objectives and served as an initial step toward encouraging the sustainable utilization of local resources.
