Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Memengaruhi Ketidakcukupan Pangan di Indonesia Pada Tahun 2023 Menggunakan Analisis Komponen Utama dan Analisis Faktor

Abstract

Food insufficiency is a critical issue that can trigger hunger rates in a country, making it an important concern in improving people's welfare. Indonesia still faces a high hunger rate of 16.8%, making it the country with the second highest hunger rate in Southeast Asia. Various factors, such as low rice productivity and rice production, contribute to this problem. This study applies a factor analysis method using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to identify and reduce the complexity of data related to factors that influence food insufficiency. The results of the analysis show significant variations between provinces, with population growth rates that are evenly distributed, while other variables such as minimum wages, poverty rates, GRDP, rice harvest area, and rice productivity show inequality. Assumption testing indicates a multivariate normal distribution, data adequacy, and correlation between variables. Two factors are formed from the analysis, namely regional economic conditions and socio-demographics which are able to explain 67.560% of the six variables studied. These findings are expected to provide insight and understanding for the community and policy makers in efforts to solve the problem of food insufficiency and reduce hunger in Indonesia.
