Abstract
This research is based on the discovery of several problems when the researcher made observations in MTsN 3 Agam specifically in grade VIII of the SKI subject, where the teacher in the teaching and learning process predominantly uses the lecture method, As a result, there are no interesting learning activities, students become disinterested and lack enthusiasm for learning, and do not pay attention to the teacher when explaining the material. Thus, the aim of this research is to find out whether market place activity techniques have an impact on student learning motivation in the SKI class at MTsN 3 Agam. With a non-equivalent control group design, this study used a quasi-experimental research methodology. Pre, treatment and post tests were given to two groups, the experimental group and the control group in this study. The tool for collecting data is a learning motivation questionnaire, the questionnaire was tested previously to test the validity and reliability of the questionnaire used. Normality and homogeneity tests are used in the data analysis process. An independent samples t-test was then used to assess the hypothesis. The average learning motivation of experimental class students was 134.89, while the average of the control class was 97.57. Based on the analysis and discussion of research data, it can be seen that the average motivation of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class and a sig value was obtained. Based on the 2-tailed significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, or that market place activity techniques influence students' learning motivation in SKI learning.
