Fungsi Media Sosial dalam Komunikasi Interpersonal Kalangan Pemuda Mandailing Natal: Digitalisasi dan Analisis Budaya
Abstract
Through a literature survey that includes books, journal articles, and internet sources, this article investigates the use of social media in interpersonal contact among young people in Mandailing Natal. This work, which has a strong foundation in Mandailing cultural values—especially the idea of *Dalihan Na Tolu*—focuses on how the younger generation in the region uses social media to communicate with each other in a personal but culturally authentic way. Although social media allows for greater communication, it also presents difficulties in maintaining the depth and authenticity of interpersonal relationships. This article shows how many traditional and cultural values are upheld in the context of digital communication, even though social media has changed some aspects of communication. Additionally, social media is essential for keeping local culture alive and accessible to a wider audience.
