Pengaruh Media Sosial pada Masyarakat Baduy Luar dalam Upaya Menjaga Adat Istiadat Suku Baduy

Abstract

This journal examines the influence of the use of social media in Baduy society in efforts to maintain Baduy tribal customs. The Baduy tribe is famous for its customs which are still strong today. Modernization is one of the challenges for the Baduy tribe in maintaining the preservation of their customs. Such as the use of social media which has been used by several Baduy communities. The use of social media in the Baduy community has quite a significant impact. Like the Outer Baduy who are starting to use social media to market their cultural products, this is different from the Inner Baduy who still reject technology in order to preserve their customs. The use of technology in Baduy society raises concerns that the use of technology will erode cultural values. Efforts have emerged to limit internet access in order to preserve culture, but this creates a dilemma between modernization and preserving custom.
