Pengaruh Pendidikan Konservasi Berbasis Kurikulum: Pendekatan Holistik Untuk Mendukung Pencapaian SDGS di Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

Education is the key to the progress of a nation, because it has the ability to change human behavior and attitudes through the process of training and teaching. Curriculum-based conservation education with a holistic approach is one of the important strategies in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in elementary schools. This curriculum is designed to provide students with an understanding of the values of environmental conservation and sustainability through comprehensive learning, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. A holistic approach integrates various fields of science and skills needed to build awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, supporting sustainability, and strengthening students' social awareness from an early age. This study examines the implementation of a conservation education-based curriculum in elementary schools and its impact on achieving the SDGs, especially in terms of quality education (SDG 4) and climate action (SDG 13) and goal 15 (Conserving Terrestrial Ecosystems). The methodology of this research uses a literature review, which is the process of examining library materials related to the research topic with the aim of understanding and explaining current understanding of the subject. The results of the study indicate that a holistic approach in conservation education can increase students' environmental awareness and foster sustainable behavior that supports the achievement of SDGs at the elementary level. Through this study, it is expected to produce an effective conservation learning model to be applied in elementary schools, as well as a guide for educators in integrating conservation principles into teaching and learning activities.
